Introduction
In my home city I was the club captain for the main martial art I practise. I have been training for over 4 years. I also have experience mentoring and teaching children and young adults on summer camps as a counsellor.
History and philosophy of my practise and how I teach
The idea is to use the skills learnt in these classes to develop ourselves and co-operate with each other. This makes it ideal for combating bullying, developing confidence and training the mind and the body to become stronger and resilient to the challenges of growing up and being more responsible.
I do this by teaching mutual respect: playing team games which develops camaraderie, practising patience when performing challenging moves which need time and patience to develop, encouraging students to support themselves and helping other learners in each and every class. Instruction will be given in the English language with a few key words and phrases in Japanese.
Rules
Please respect yourself and others when training with people of different ages and abilities. Do not use your strength to harm others. Instead help and support fellow students by teaching what you already know well in order to better your understanding and improve your communication skills. Be careful when training! Train to your current level of fitness and capability. Most of all have fun, show great enthusiasm and determination and practise as much in class and as often as possible in your free time.
